Abuba Steak

tenderloin steak @ abuba steak

Dear fellow tasters,

It’s so good to finally meet you all again.  It was quite a long time ago the last time that I went to this place with my faithful couple friends.  Nevertheless, Abuba Steak is always a favorite place to look for a decent cheap meal ever since I knew about it during my college years when it used to take a long time to get to Cipete Raya in the Southern part of Jakarta just to have a big slab of sirloin, or tenderloin, or T-bone steak on your plate to munch and chew and fill your hungry stomach with.

Nowadays, it is so much easier to go there now that it has opened a branch down in Central Jakarta on Wahid Hasyim street close to Jakarta’s main Thamrin boulevard.  It’s neither a fancy restaurant with the five course menu, nor one of those expensive steak place where you only get a tiny cut of meat for ten to twenty times the price of your regular meal.  It’s just a decent place with no aircon, only some electric fans, to have a delicious steak of your choice ranging from local or imported (US or NZ) sirloin, tenderloin, T-bone, or rib-eye steak.  Other menus include chicken and fish steak, burger, and of course not forgetting the french fries.  My favorites there would be the tenderloin steak with less fat and more meat or the T-bone with its very generous portion cut.  And guess what… for one portion of local beef steak, you only need to pay around 50k rupiahs (or 5 USD) which is pretty damn cheap for a steak meal.

To keep the post short, I really recommend the place for you all steak lovers who are on a budget or for you who simply love a big juicy cut of barbequed meat called the steak.  Happy eating and dining…
