Dear fellow tasters,

Last month, I entered another eating competition but in a much smaller scale than the previous one.  I learned about the registration from twitter and it was for Marutama Ra-men.  Apparently, the eating competition was a part of a two days event organized by Plaza Indonesia with nine other participating F & B tenants and the Marutama Ra-men session was assigned to the second place for the first day.

Shabu-shabu, suki, hotpot, steamboat restaurants are literally all over the place nowadays.  Unlike Japanese shabu-shabu place which offers mostly meat, seafood or other raw ingredients, a Thai/Chinese suki restaurant usually comes with additional various stuffs to put in your hotpot – assorted dumplings, beef balls, seafood balls, noodles, mushrooms, fish belly, meat or seafood-rolled veggies, different types of tofu and many more, you name it.

By The Beach

Dear fellow tasters,

What used to be Fashion Bar in Plaza Indonesia eX is now a beach restaurant, suitably named By The Beach.  The white-grayish stone-covered exterior of this restaurant is adorned by wooden windows offering a peek at the white-curtained wood-and-rattan-furnished interior complete with fake palm trees and beach atmosphere sans an oceanic view.  And the menu, of course, offered mostly seafood selection with a mix of chinese, indonesian, and western touches.
